Why choose a silk pillowcase for your skin and hair?
Approximately 99.9% of the population sleeps on cotton pillowcases. The problem with cotton is that it doesn't glide smoothly, and the fabric continuously rubs and tugs on the delicate parts of your face and neck.
Only pillowcases made from a very soft and non-abrasive fabric like natural mulberry silk can minimize fabric friction on the skin and prevent sleep lines.

Properties of silk
Silk contains 18 amino acids and natural proteins that nourish your skin and hair. It is an organic and natural material.
Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial, making it suitable for people with skin irritations, allergies, asthma, or excessive sweating.
Silk is also thermoregulating. It keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.
The benefits for the skin
Anti-wrinkle: The soft texture, natural proteins, and moisture retention help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Acne: The antibacterial properties of silk are beneficial for limiting bacterial overgrowth. Eczema: Silk is a natural hypoallergenic material. Maintains skin hydration:
One of the properties of cotton is its ability to absorb up to 30% of its weight in liquid. Silk, on the other hand, has a lower absorbency of only about 11%.
This means silk significantly reduces moisture loss from the skin compared to cotton, helping to maintain the skin's natural hydration during the night.
Regulates skin impurities
The enzymes present in silk help prevent the appearance of blemishes and contribute to acne regulation.
Benefits for hair
Maintains hair moisture: Silk pillowcases absorb less sebum, keeping the hair hydrated. Reduces split ends and hair loss caused by friction: Silk weaving is gentle on the hair compared to cotton. Reduces static electricity and keeps hair soft. Reduces tangles.
What is "Momme"?
You may have heard of 'momme' when purchasing silk items. Momme is the unit of weight per square meter of silk fabric. The higher the momme number, the thicker and more durable the silk fabric. Momme ranges from 10mm (thinner) to 25mm, and our pillowcases are made from superior 22mm silk for their strength and effectiveness on hair and skin.
