Succès des soins naturels sur la dermatite péri-orale

Success of Natural Skincare on Perioral Dermatitis

This week, I would like to share the story of a charming lady who visited us in 2018. Here's how we successfully treated her perioral dermatitis within 3 weeks. Even today, she continues to use éméo skincare to take care of her skin.

If you or someone you know is struggling with dermatitis, natural treatments have proven to be highly effective.

What is Perioral Dermatitis?

Perioral Dermatitis is a common facial dermatosis frequently encountered in dermatological practice, yet there are no epidemiological studies on its incidence.

Perioral Dermatitis mainly affects Caucasians, predominantly women between 15 and 45 years old, with a peak between 20 and 30 years.

Customer History:

The dermatitis started in a small area around the nose and gradually spread. During visits to several general practitioners, there were various diagnoses, including eczema. She tried several creams without success. Finally, a dermatologist diagnosed her with perioral dermatitis.

The condition primarily localised around the mouth, but it could also affect the nose or eyes. Two or three locations may be associated in the same patient.

First Consultation:

During our first appointment, our client hid behind her scarf to mask her redness. I took the time to talk with her to better understand her history. Treating a skin problem involves considering the person as a whole.

Stress and a skincare routine with conventional cosmetic products were probably the triggering factors. Perioral dermatitis can be triggered at any time without necessarily knowing the cause. To resolve this issue, we need to boost the skin so that it functions normally and soothe the redness and irritations.

My Recommendations:

I suggested the following solutions:

  • Skin Detox
  • Mineral makeup

A skin detox is a reset for the skin, allowing it to rejuvenate. To learn more, read our article "La diète en cosmétique naturelle" (Skin Detox in Natural Cosmetics).

Stop using all conventional cosmetics, including makeup

Cleanse the skin morning and evening with liniment and chamomile hydrosol

If your skin is too irritated and uncomfortable, apply the Premium Sensicalm Serum

Redness can affect morale and self-confidence. You can hide redness with mineral makeup.

Second Consultation:

For every person we see in consultation, I always schedule a follow-up appointment after a month to evaluate the progress. The skin takes 28 days to renew itself, which is an ideal time to observe changes in the skin. It's also when I recommend which treatments to use next.

Our client had a fantastic transformation, and within three weeks, there were almost no visible traces of the dermatitis, except for a few residual redness.

My Recommendations for the Future:

  1. Liniment
  2. Chamomile Hydrosol
  3. Premium Sensicalm Serum

The new routine will keep the skin healthy and maintain its role as a protective barrier. Mineral makeup does not compromise the integrity of the skin and can be used without any issues.
